I will intervene, not interfere - NFF president, Pinnick drops third-term ambition
Amaju Pinnick, the president of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has declared he will not run for a third term in office.
There have been rumors that Pinnick, who is also a member of the FIFA executive council committee, is considering staying in office.
Next month marks the expiration of the previous vice president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
But Pinnick asserted that his resignation from his post is appropriate at this point.
"There are a lot of Nigerians who can go there (NFF boss). I will support and collaborate with whoever wins the election and becomes president "Pinnick stated on Monday to Arise TV.
"That is my pledge. I will step in, but I won't get involved."
On August 18 in Lagos, the NFF Annual General Assembly, which launches the Elective Congress, will take place.
